lyrics
robbing the guts in lonely people
stolen the hearts that heavy hung
silence among the royal peaceful
folding under for their gods
stolen in a dream
they can't ever be released
they mustn't be
they are holy
even those who see
through this travesty
agree their hope is broken
broken like the home
that was promised them
back when they were too young to be jaded
nowadays they try to be satisfied
with eyes that see the faded
nothing for their pain
victims of their shame
how to live without what has been robbed
let's see which of us is free
i already know its me
i hold onto hands of others look into your eyes and i rob you
This one also took me a while to get into. It strikes me as less HC than Untitled and less poppy than Ultrapop (stupid I know). Let's call this the No Wave record. Its musical (and amusical) density is matching the persistent sound in my head right now. barnaby nygren
Toronto band Respire deliver a post-hardcore tour de force on the largest scale possible, orchestrally rich and incessantly uncompromising. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 6, 2021
On this raging triad of smart, pit-starting confessionals, the Canadian metalcore band ponder just as hard as they pummel. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 13, 2018
Polish noise-crust outfit eschews the big Tragedy-esque riffs still popular with their US counterparts for scratchy claustrophobia. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 2, 2016
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
