monsieur_pernice I adore these lads and will follow them to the ends of the Earth. Busy Man only gets better with each listen and the closer, Died, is legit one of my favorite songs, period.
Can't wait to see them live again and give em all a big hug. Favorite track: Died.
Darknight

Darknight Post-punk banger that rips in all the right places. Unhinged guitars, beautifully arranged vocals and enough swaggering attitude to make you want to dance like an idiot. Favorite track: Less is More.

you think too much you drink too much but not too often don't sleep enough don't eat enough and far too often it costs too much draw the line costs too much chalk change your mind you write the wrong line and fuck it up you want to be in the summer dancing it costs too much recombine costs too much chalk you’re doing fine you write your whole life with buckets of chalk you’re being free in the summer you bought a car it's efficient and small you park so often the engine’s off and you stare at the clock it stops you often cold tile floor half open door this face is empty now do you really care if it’s really fair do you struggle often why don’t you stop and stare at the clock time passes often fake a smile it’s your prime you’ve gotta brace yourself if i try i can’t rely on what i feel can’t you tell

it’s mine your problem your passion in time you’ll figure out i’m running after you it’s gone my caution i’m falling you’re gone you disappear i’m running after you you cut me deep enough it’s your blood bleeding out you cut me deep enough my oja de macao it’s fine i’ll drive you i’ll try to in line i’ll wait around you’re going out tonight driving 45 down the county road at night you sit on your hands and scream into my face taking off your seatbelt and unlocking your door you open it and jump out as i speed into the lake

Busy Man 06:29
favorite awful constant pain working hard to hardly sleep bought a plan for therapy happy birthday unto me isn’t this your comedy play the fool to shed the grief bought a gun to shoot the shit can’t be loved i’d kill for it fake love stay tough walk slow lace up cool head cold soul talk less do more your contrived misanthropy that’s your private vanity makes the perfect recipe for a knuckle in the teeth isn’t this your comedy on a bender frequently wanted more but often find life’s a tune of killing time he’ll fly a kite in the fire sky and play with the ashes like the snow i wish i could lie and tell you i’m unlike him but i’m a blood - in brother of the crow i saw you i’m staring down the barrel can’t see shit i lost you i’m staring down the bottle nothing’s left i miss you i’m staring at the ceiling can’t see shit

Less is More 03:49
in the back of the college there is a door that leads to knowledge it’s kept guarded by an ancient code that’s kept secret to keep it closed i met a man while walking to class who said he knew how i could get past but when i asked for the secret drill he asked me for a dollar bill this place is locked this place is locked for me this place is not really free you see the writing on the door the sign says less is more a mirror or glass something that i could smash i keep trying to escape my fate i keep trying to ignore my hate but no matter how hard i try i keep running into reasons why reasons why i should feel like hell and easy ways i could kill myself like a train, a roof, and more all keys to unlock the door it’s time for you to feel like this we met last night you looked all right you said you liked my smile you said you liked my style we went out back down the hill and past the track when we got to the opened door you pushed me to the floor

feeling oversaturated acting tired being quiet losing focus name forgotten looking forward door is open this is my observation won’t be too long now wanting dying better lying my private consultation easy to hold down overdosing i’m just joking key in the lock to get away listen to my last warning open the gate to your escape this is, i’m finding out, such a fine way to be aligned droning over empty places making eyes with voided faces haunted by a nameless fear bathroom mirror thoughts are clearer this is my observation hoping to come down trapped inside a vacant climate my private consultation won’t be too long now tide is rising sun is blinding

not content and you definitely never feel like these are the days you’d look back upon when you were older and more content and finally felt like looking back upon you think it’s because you shut your eyes taught yourself to man up, hush, forget about the present this will happen over and over again you try it it’s 9pm maria sharapova playing tennis on the tv just a ate a second dessert [WWE popsicle] with the neighbor kid and his parents your mother is supposed to be here by now but she doesn’t answer so you call your sister but her voice mailbox is not set up yet step out of the car one foot at a time looking forwards , not backwards as you approach the doorway you see a figure standing in the headlights , arms akimbo it’s your grandmother ; and that’s good, she’s here but if she’s here, that means someone else isn’t that means someone’s gonna have to call you on the phone and say “i’m sorry” and when the saving portion gets talked about many times i’ll look back upon again it’s 10pm yellow hot hotel lights are bright and shine hard three people in a room, two asleep, one awake you came here expecting you'd be waking up from the light shining in through the hotel window , the open shudders as you fell asleep but you didn’t make it all the way instead, the light from underneath the doorway the bright yellow light of the hotel hallway shines and keeps you up you’re waking up the cold sun you’re waking up the empty son every time you look back you’re waiting for the end to come we cannot force them to be honest we cannot hope they maintain
